Tesco Kipa opened its doors to IUE students
The students that completed the Retail Management Option Program with the cooperation of İzmir University of Economics Department of Business Administration and Tesco Kipa will not struggle to find job. 14 students that successfully completed the program are excited about starting to work at Tesco Kipa.
İzmir University of Economics Rector Prof. Dr. Attila Sezgin and Vice-Rector Cemali Dinçer visited the CEO of Tesco Kipa Paul Ritchie and exchanged views about Retail Management Option Program offered in the scope of Department of Business Administration with the cooperation of İzmir University of Economics and Tesco Kipa. At the end of the meeting, it is planned that the students would be followed even after completing the two-year program and starting to work.
Prof. Dr. Attila Sezgin talked about internationalization of İzmir University of Economics and underlined the importance of establishing connections in this process. Prof. Dr. Sezgin said, “Having a close relationship with Tesco Kipa is very important for our university. Meeting the managers with the students in the scope of the courses and transferring information is our priority. With the help of this program, the students step into the sector one-step ahead of the other new graduates. Retail Management Option Program derives a profit for both two institutions." Prof. Dr. Cemali Dinçer indicated that the program did not offer a job but a career.
Paul Ritchie stated that Tesco Kipa worked for social responsibility and said, “It is very important for Tesco Kipa to meet with students for transferring the corporate culture. By giving support to the education of the students, we are providing solution for qualified employer need of the retail sector that develops rapidly. Besides, we will work to determine and follow the career paths of the students after employed by Tesco Kipa."
İzmir University of Economics Department of Business Administration lecturer Asst. Prof. Güldem Atabay, research assistant Dicle Yurdakul Şahin, Tesco Kipa Human Resources Director Remzi Kıraç and Human Resources Manager Pelin Akseki Eryurtlu attended the meeting.
