ESEED CAMP MET AT IEU
E-seed, which has an important role in the development of the internet initiatives like yemeksepeti.com and sahibinden.com used by millions of people in Turkey each day organized its first meeting in İzmir at İzmir University of Economics. E-seed camp organized by Embryonix, one of the companies of İzmir University of Economics, got the entrepreneurs and investors together.
E-seed camp established in 2008 by Burak Büyükdemir in order to turn the initiatives into investment guided the entrepreneurs with its 6 speakers n its first meeting in İzmir. The first E-seed camp in İzmir was very colorful and beneficial with nearly 100 of participants made up of students, academicians, investors, and employees. İzmir University of Economics Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Tunçdan Baltacıoğlu made the opening speech of the E-seed camp and stated that patent, R&D and innovation investments in Turkey had made progress, but they fell behind other countries in the world.
Following the speech of Burak Büyükdemir, the founder of Networking Academy Ertuğrul Belen gave speed-networking training to the participants. In the applied training, the participants met each other at 10 different tables with 10 people in two hours. In the afternoon session of the camp, Inventram consultant Dr. Haluk Elçi gave some important information about how the important initiatives in the world obtained finance. Haluk Elçi told how the internet initiatives like amazon and facebook used by millions of people did surprisingly obtain finance.
The last speaker of E-seed camp, Dr. Uğur Özmen made an interesting and effective speech. E-seed camp organized for the first time in İzmir at İzmir University of Economics will get the investors and entrepreneurs together again on December 18, 2010 and April 02, 2011.
