IUE, OFFICIALLY ESTIEM MEMBER
ESTIEM’s 40th general meeting, organized by the Community of European Industry and Marketing students, took place between 9-15 October in Finland where Izmir University of Economics participated in it as well. The Community of Industrial Systems of Izmir University of Economics was selected the official member in the general meeting which was a great success.
In this general meeting the presentation of application of members was also made which is the last phase of becoming an official member of ESTIEM Local Group. ESTIEM is one of the biggest student organizations in Europe and in its general meeting Anıl İnanlı, a freshman in the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering, made a presentation where after Izmir University of Economics was entitled to become an official member.
The Community of Industrial Systems of Izmir University of Economics has successfully become the second foundation university after Bilkent whose membership has been approved.
ESTIEM Journey of Izmir University of Economics
The ESTIEM journey of the community of Industrial Systems of Izmir University of Economics took its start in November 2008 in Famagusta where we had guest status. It continued in 2009 in Zurich where we received the observer status. Finally, in the40th general meeting, presentation and the voting in Finland the Community of Industrial Systems (ESTIEM) of Izmir University of Economics was entitled to become an official member on October 15th, 2010. ESTIEM has 65 members in 26 different countries and only 6 members in Turkey. Izmir University of Economics joined this group of Bilkent, ODTÜ, ITÜ, Boğaziçi, Yıldız Teknik and Dokuz Eylül University.
