IZMIR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS IS LOOKING FOR A LYRICIST
Izmir University of Economics is preparing for its 10th Anniversary of Foundation with special activities. The large-scale celebrations will take place on April 14th, 2011 and a ‘10th Year Oratorio Lyrics Contest’ is to be staged during the celebrations. The contest will be about the foundation phase and about the 10-year successful past of Izmir University of Economics. It should also be a lasting memory for the future years.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Izmir University of Economics Mr. Ekrem Demirtas, Deputy Rector Prof Dr Oguz Esen, a member of IUE, The Faculty of Science and Literature Asst. Prof. Dr Fikret Yılmaz, a member of IUE, The Faculty of Science and Literature Ekim Sevindi, Dean of Students Mine Kayıcan and IUE Music Consultant Alaskar Abbasov will evaluate the pieces. The piece that will win the contest will be composed by Alaskar Abbasov and staged by the students at the foundation Anniversary on April 14th, 2011. Students, administrative staff, academicians and graduates can participate in this lyrics contest and the deadline is January 12, 2011. The pieces which will be assessed by the council of selection will be submitted in the Dean’s office.
The piece that will win the first place in the 10th Year Oratorio Lyrics Contest will be awarded 4.000TL and the second place 2.000TL and the third place 1.000TL accordingly.
