ODTU THESIS OF THE YEAR AWARD TO IEU
Having had a great success, Izmir University of Economics Mathematics Department lecturer Associate Prof. Dr. Sevin Gumgum won ‘’ODTU Thesis of the Year Award’’.
Having won the award with ‘Solution of Fluid Mechanics Problems by Mutual Border Method’’ subjected doctorate thesis, Sevin Gumgum’s thesis advisor was Prof Dr. Munevver Tezer. Having won this award being given by ODTU Prof. Dr. Mustafa N. Parlar Education and Research Association Gumgum stated that this is a great honour to win this award.
Gumgum also stated that her thesis has a great importance on industrial area. She said that ‘’in my thesis, I have analysed flow of natural and mixed convection current in 2D channels and have done applications on nano and microbe liquids current in closed areas. Energy conversation and storage of heat transfer in liquids has an important value in industrial applications of meteorology, climate researches and building insulation. The usage of nano liquids with particulates in it to accelerate heat transfer increases the importance. Also mathematical stability analysis of solutions has been done for the first time in litterateur. It is really a great honour to win this award on behalf of Izmir University of Economics.’’
