IUE HAS FOUND ITS COMPOSER
Having been prepared its 10th year Anniversary, Izmir University of Economics has found its composer for its 10th year Oratorio by lyrics contest. The works in lyrics contest were assessed by jury under the presidency of President of Board of Trustees Ekrem Demirtaş, to be presented in the grand celebration on 14th of April.
As a result of the assessment‘’Bir Düş Gördüm’’ entitled work by School of Foreign Languages Assistant Director Sevil Alp has been selected to be composed. The aim is to leave oratorio, which tells establishment process and 10 years success of Izmir University of Economics, to the next generations. The winner work will be composed by successful musician Alaskar Abbasov and will be presented by students at Establishment Anniversary on 14th of April.
The jury, President Ekrem Demirtaş, Vice- Rector Prof. Dr. Oguz Esen, IUE Faculty of Science and Arts Instructor Asst. Prof. Dr. Fikret Yilmaz, IUE Faculty of Science and Arts Instructor Ekim Sevindi, Students’ Dean Mine Kayıcan and IUE Music Advisor Alaskar Abbasov, also assessed the first three works and owner of jury special award. At the end of the contest Sevil Alp is winner, Mehmet Demirci is the second with his ‘’İzmirim ve Universitem’’ entitled work, IUE graduate Cansu Güvener is the third with her ‘’ Bir Dile Geliş’’ entitled work. EKOSEM trainer Sedef Uzgören won the jury special award with her ‘’ Kuruluş’’ entitled work.
The prize for the winner is 4.000TL, 2.000 TL for the second and 1.000 TL for the third winner and for jury special winner. Composing and presenting practices of the winner work has been started by Alaskar Abbasov. Mrs. Sevil Alp stated that she would donate 4.000TL to ‘’Kardelen Project’’ of Cagdas Yasami Destekleme Dernegi.
