IUE WILL BE GUIDE TO UNIVERSITIES
Having been chosen as a pilot university by Higher Education Council, Izmir University of Economics will be example to other universities in Turkey.
Izmir University of Economics showed success of being pilot university in Bologna process and Lisbon strategy studies, which have been being carried out at universities since 2006 to create national qualifications framework in Higher Education. In 2010 June, Izmir University of Economics raised its education quality to higher points by having had the right of taking ‘Diploma Supplement Label’’ and being one of 3 Foundation Universities.
While universities can have information of what kind of qualifications will be gained by their graduates as a result of the education, students can have information of what kind of qualifications they will have during their education period. Carrying on its studies in this sense Izmir University of Economics had a great role for Turkey and also it will be a guide to other Universities.

Having stated how selfless Izmir University of Economics has been studying on both for Bologna Process and Lisbon strategy since 2006, Prof. Dr. Atilla Sezgin said that TYYC is important for students as much as it is for universities. Having drew attention to being a pilot university for this project is a great honour and a great responsibility, Prof. Dr. Atilla Sezgin said that ‘’the university will complete TYYC studies till the end of June and will be pilot university for other universities. It is a great honour to come to this situation after all detailed studies. As a result of quality of the education and increasing the education criteria day by day, we will play an important role in this process.’’
Students will know which skills they will graduate with
Having emphasized after TYYC students will choose their education programmes and courses consciously, Prof. Dr. Sezgin stated that ‘students will be aware of skills in their departments.
Lifelong learning is one of basic issues of this project. Students will have knowledge about their courses before and they will know which course will bring what kind of skills to them. When they will choose consciously they will know which skills they will get and they will not have much problem in business life and will be adapted easily. In this project Izmir University of Economics is the only foundation university and apart from this, Anatolian University, Karadeniz Technical University and Sakarya University are the other pilot universities of this project.’’
IUE is among 54 Universities in Europe
Prof.Dr. Sezgin stated that Izmir University of Economics have done captious and detailed studies within the context of Bologna and raised quality of education. ‘’Diploma Supplement Label’’ which had been taken last year, is one of the important results of these studies.
He drew attention of Izmir University of Economics’ having been taken ‘’Diploma Supplement Label’’ and being one of 3 foundation universities in Turkey. He said that ‘’By taking ‘’Diploma Supplement Label ‘which was just in 54 universities around Europe, Izmir University of Economics gained a great success for Turkey. Also we as University got the right of being in Universities Book, prepared by European Union Commission’’
