ELT CONFERENCE ATTRACTED GREAT ATTENTION
1st International ELT Conference was held by Izmir University of Economics School of Foreign Languages with a great participation.
The conference was held with the participation of worldwide known scholars famous for their works on ELT such as Adrian Underhill, Rod Bolitha, Donald Freeman and Katlen Graves. More than 90 works were presented. International ELT Conference hosted 200 people from 24 countries. Participants exchanged their views about both national and international works. Common problems and possible solutions were argued and presentations about practices in other countries attracted attention.
The Director of the School of Foreign Languages, Asst. Prof. Evrim Üstünlüoğlu stated that “Despite being held for the first time, our conference reached a great mass of participants.” She also added that “It was an honor for us to host worldwide known scholars in our conference. Such a great participation and great attention to our conference gave us hope towards future. Next year, we aim to organize much better conference by making cooperation with other universities.”
