PROF. DR. LAMBERT BRING THE LOGISTICIANS TOGETHER
Izmir University of Economics, opening the first Logistics Management Department in Turkey, is preparing to host a doyen renowned throughout the world in the field of logistics.
Coming from Ohio State University and being a visitor to Izmir University of Economics, Prof. Dr. Douglas Lambert is going hold a two-days manager lecture titled as “Supply Chains Management, Processes, Partnerships, Performance Aspect” on May, 2-3. He is going to hold another seminar on May, 4th after the education hosting 13 leader firms and 41 attendees. This seminar forms the first step for the partnership agreement which has been planned between Izmir University of Economics and Ohio State University.
Pointing out the fact that most of the books used in the undergraduate and master program courses of the Logistics Management Department was written by Prof. Lambert, Prof, Tunçdan Baltacıoğlu said: “It is a great honour for us to host the doyen of the sector in our university, which set out the first Logistics Management department of Turkey. It was Prof. Lambert, who wrote many of the books on which we study. Thanks to this seminar, our students will have the opportunity to meet the professor they read closer and to exchange ideas. This is a very significant pace for the upcoming partnership agreement with Ohio State University which we have been planning. Within this framework, one of our graduates, Esen Andiç, has captured the opportunity to have her PhD in Ohio State University.”
Prof. Lambert, who has more than hundred publications in the most respected journals in his field, is going to come together with the students of the department of Logistics Management and share his experiences.
