DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN
Selçuk Koçak, the founder of the Scaro Design, with several awards abroad and designer Somut Orcan gave a seminar about yacht design on 28th April 2011. Within the seminar, they talked about their design principles and construction process of a yacht. They informed the students about criteria about the yacht design and answered their questions.
Following the seminar, the workshop started. The aim of the workshop was refiting of a yacht by transformation of space from private to public. Students worked on a 37 meters of explorer type motor yacht. Thereby students had an experience not only in yacht design but also in group work. During the workshop Selçuk Koçak and Somut Orcan gave the critiques to the student groups.The projects are now displayed in the exhibition opened by the Dean, Tevfik Balcıoğlu, in D Block D211 lobby. Exhibition is avaliable till 13th May 2011.
