IUE proves its difference in terms of second language
In addition to the TOEFL, TOEIC, GMAT held in English, CELI and TELC are going to be executed by the İzmir University of Economics. In order to raise the quality of second language teaching and to make the students stronger so that they can go into the challenging business contexts, in academic year 2010-2011, İzmir University of Economics School of Foreign Languages has gained the privilege to be the center of the international exams. Whether the aims that are determined by Europe are reached in languages French, Russian, Italian, German, Portuguese, Greek, Chinese, Spanish, and Japanese is going to be tested by the exams to be executed by İzmir University of Economics School of Foreign Languages.
Stating that 81 students have gained the right to take their certificates in the exams held in French, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish by the end of this academic year, Asst. Prof. Evrim Üstünlüoğlu said: “Our students have showed a success in the international exams and gained the right to take their certificates. The university management and the Board of Trustees, who since the foundation of this university, have emphasized that knowing another foreign language besides English is very significant, have given a great deal of support to SFL about the fact that those exams will be executed by SFL.”
Students who took their certificates with a ceremony have gained the opportunity to start their MA education abroad without any interruption stepping over the language score.
