THE UNITED STATES AMBASSADOR HAS MET WITH IUE STUDENTS
The United States Ambassador to Turkey, Francis Ricciardone, has visited Izmir University of Economics and come together with students and academicians.
The Ambassador Ricciardone, who has been invited by the Office of International Affairs, has visited the American Corner located in the library. He has been given information by IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Atilla Sezgin and has later met with Department of International Relations and European Union students.
In his short speech about “Turkish-American Economic and Trade Relations”, Ambassador Ricciardone has drawn attention to strong ties between Turkey and the United States. He has stated that, “There have always been strong economic and commercial ties between Turkey and America. I believe these ties will get even stronger in the future.”
Ambassador Ricciardone, who has expressed his love for Izmir, has answered students’ questions. After his speech, he has been presented a gift by Rector Prof. Dr. Atilla Sezgin.
