A GIRL OF MANY TALENTS
Hande Arı, who has graduated from Izmir University of Economics at the top of her class, and double majored in Departments of Business Administration and Logistics, has achieved a phenomenal success by earning a government scholarship in China.
Hande Arı is going to have her graduate degree in China at Dalian Maritime University, Department of Logistics Engineering and Management where a limited number of students from Turkey are accepted. Hande Arı who represents Izmir University of Economics abroad by earning a full scholarship has left for China last September. The successful student who’s very fluent in German, English, Spanish and Portuguese will now continue her education by learning Chinese.
Hande Arı, who’s graduated from Bornova Anatolian High School, is also very interested in sports and art besides her academic success. Besides doing karate professionally since 1999 and coaching, she also holds 1st Dan in Jujitsu. While continuing her education at Izmir University of Economics, she has done her internship at Valencia with an achievement scholarship in 2009 and continued in 2010 in Portugal at Minho University through ERASMUS program and in 2011 she has completed her internship at Tesco in England.
Arı has stated that she is very pleased to continue her education in China and said that she’s benefiting from the opportunities of IUE in the best possible way. Arı has stated that she has not had any problems adjusting to the life in China and continued to say, “Students, faculty members and people of China in general are very respectful to foreigners. They do everything in their power to make their country look good. I’m trying to upgrade my university education to the next level here; I’m going to get another plus to my resume by learning Chinese.”
Arı has been doing and coaching Karate professionally since 1999 and she believes sports play an important role in her education. She has indicated, “I believe sports and education complete each other. I owe my achievements in education to a disciplined sports background. Besides karate, I hold 1st Dan in Jujitsu.” In addition to all this, the successful student is also learning to play a traditional musical instrument Erhu in order to understand Chinese culture better.
