THE BICYCLISTS COMMEMORATED KUBİLAY
Izmir University of Economics, Bicycle Club members visited Kubilay Martyrs Memorial in Menemen to commemorate Martyr Third Lieutenant Kubilay.
The bicycle tour to Menemen involved Club Members, Club Chairman Ercan Aydın, and Vice Chairman Oğulcan Köken. The bicyclists completed a track of 84 kilometres which started from Balçova and ended at Menemen with a challenging ascent.
The Bicycle Club members have observed a minute of silence at the memorial and showed their devotion to Ataturk and gratitude to martyrs. Utkan Boyacıoğlu, French Department instructor and club advisor, has signed the martyrs’ memory book and club members were informed on Menement Incident, one of the most significant incidents of our Republic, which refers to a chain of incidents that occurred on December 23, 1930.
IUE Bicycle Club, which took part in many different activities in a very short time, is planning their next tour to Çanakkale on March 18.
