THE FIRST TURK CHOSEN FOR IFI EXECUTIVE BOARD
Asst. Prof. Dr. Osman Demirbaş, Izmir University of Economics-Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Faculty Member, has attended International Design Alliance (IDA) 2011 Taipei Congress, which is considered the world’s biggest design congress, as a speaker.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Osman Demirbaş attended the congress in Taipei, Taiwan as both a speaker and a panellist, and he also carried on the task of Chairman for the Interior Architecture Declaration Assessment Arbitration Board. Asst. Prof. Dr. Osman Demirbaş, has been the first Turk chosen to take part in the IFI Executive Board in 2011-2013 elections. He has attended the general assembly of 3 organizations that constitute the International Design Alliance as Executive Member for Chamber of Interior Architects, Turkey.
He stated that, it was a great honour for him to get accepted for IFI Executive Board, in its 48 years of history, as the first interior architect from Turkey. Asst. Prof. Dr. Osman Demirbaş said, “It is such an honour for me to represent Izmir University of Economics at a world’s biggest design congress which is held every two years. To be shown as a candidate at International Interior Architects Federation and to be chosen for Executive Board is a phenomenal success on behalf of Turkey.
I am very happy to attend the congress as a speaker and represent Turkey at this international federation.”
Asst. Prof. Dr. Osman Demirbaş said that their next goal with Department Head Asst. Prof. Dr. Deniz Hasırcı is to make IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design member to IFI under education title.
