SHARED THEIR EXPERIENCES WITH STUDENTS
Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design senior students have welcomed Attorney Tayfun Aksoy and Prof. Dr. Halime Demirkan within the context of their workshop course.
Attorney Tayfun Aksoy has been a guest speaker to Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Applied Course which is given by Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Asst. Prof. Dr. Deniz Hasırcı, and he’s given information to students on legal rights of interior architects. Aksoy has shared information regarding how to protect designs of students, in terms of products and projects, legally after they graduate. Tayfun Aksoy also has informed the students about law of intellectual property rights.
Another seminar, within the context of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Applied Course I, has been given by Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Halime Demirkan of Bilkent University Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, on “Universal Design- Design For Everyone”. Prof. Dr. Demirkan has talked about design for every age and ability, and principles of universal design which forms the basis of designs. She’s expressed the importance of Universal Design which basically depends on designing for people who are in wheelchairs, blind, pregnant, elderly or children. Prof. Dr. Demirkan, has especially shared her experience and different perspectives on working with blind people and their reflection on design with senior students.
