IUE BECAME THE MOST FAVOURITE OF BAKU EDUCATION FAIR
Izmir University of Economics, who attended the International Education Fair at Baku, Azerbaijan, has been greatly admired.
Prof. Dr. Murat Adıvar, Vice Rector of IUE and Prof. Dr. İsmihan Bayramoğlu, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Science attended the education fair at Baku. Both professors drew lots of attention at the 3 day long fair where they informed the students who wish to have education in Turkey. They talked about Izmir University of Economics, and education system. They provided information on faculties and departments. Azerbaijan national newspapers and news agencies also paid great interest; the professors answered the questions of the press and talked about Izmir University of Economics. The interviews with Prof. Dr. Adıvar and Prof. Dr. Bayramoğlu had wide press coverage at recognized national newspapers such as Respublika, Ses, and Yeni Azerbaycan as well as on various internet news portals.
Prof. Dr. Adıvar stated that they tried to make a point of attending the fair at Baku every year due to the emphasis they place on Turkic Countries. Prof. Dr. Adıvar said, “We are trying to reach out to students from neighbouring countries such as Azerbaijan as much as we reach out to students who choose our university from Turkey. There is a special interest shown to Izmir University of Economics both by the students and by Azerbaijan official authorities. This makes us very happy. I hope that collaboration with Azerbaijan regarding education and research increases in the coming years. The fair has been very successful.”
