WOMEN CAME TOGETHER AT THE FESTIVAL
The 3rd International Women’s Festival, which is organized by the collaboration of Izmir University of Economics, Konak Municipality and Goethe Institut, started off with workshops.
Women’s representatives, faculty members as well as the students showed great interest to the 3rd International Women’s Festival which started with German Film Director Döndü Kılıç’s documentary workshop. Döndü Kılıç will promote her work and documentary film tool during the 3 day long workshop. On the first day of the workshop, the participants discussed making a documentary about women’s organizations in Turkey which was followed by a movie screening of “The Other Istanbul” by Döndü Kılıç.
There will be a nationwide contest after the workshops where students from all over Turkey can compete. The participants will be able to enter the contest with films on women’s rights defenders and organizations. A jury consisting of German and Turkish members will award the best films.
On the last day of the festival (Friday, March 23) there will be a street carnival for women at Alsancak Dominik Street
