ACADEMIC SOCIAL ORIENTATION FOR NEW COMING STUDENTS FROM IUE
Izmir University of Economics has prepared a full orientation program for the new coming undergraduate students that will begin to 2007-2008 Academic Year. With the Orientation Program that will start on Wednesday, September 19 and will last four days, the students will learn their rights and responsibilities and get to know the university atmosphere through different activities.
The activities will begin on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 with the speech of Izmir University of Economics Rector Prof. Dr. Attila Sezgin entitled “Welcome to Our University”. Sezgin stated that they have prepared an orientation program to maintain a university education with a high-level academic and social conditions, and said “We are trying to raise our students as individuals that are respectful to knowledge and ideas, sensitive about the problems of our country and the world, enterprising, that researches and questions everything and that sets a value upon humans.”
Through the presentations in the Orientation Program, the students will be informed about the subjects like the effect of university education to success, the importance of learning English, information technologies, library, education opportunities abroad, the world of media and career planning. Together with the academic presentations, social and cultural activities await the students that will attend to Orientation 2007.
