STUDENTS WERE ALL EARS
The Human Resources Summit and Career Days, organized by Izmir University of Economics- Human Resources Club, brought students together with the leading companies and managers of Turkey.
Representatives and Chairmen of the Executive Boards of holdings in Izmir and Turkey attended the 3 day long Human Resources Summit and Career Days, which focused on personal development subjects as CV writing and job interview techniques, and creativity. Senior managers of the leading companies such as Philip Morris/Sabancı, Kipa, Garanti bankası, TAV Havalimanları, Özgörkey Grubu, Mudo, Starbucks, İnci Holding, Uğur Soğutma, Ernst§Young, Kariyer.net, CMS, Netsis, JTI, IBM, SPK, Mercedes Mengerler Egemer, and Schneider, met with the students.
Kariyer.net presented significant information to students on CV writing techniques and pointed out the importance of not providing any misleading information on their CV’s. The presentation by Tankut Sur, Human Resources Manager of Shaya Kahve/Starbucks, attracted a lot of attention by students on the first day of the sessions. Sur talked about his career journey and told students that regardless of their careers, people should do jobs that made them happy. The managers of Garanti Bankası, Philip Morris, Mercedes Benz, and TAV Havalimanları, met with the students in the afternoon sessions. They held pretend job interviews with the students, shared their experiences and gave information on steps to a successful career.
The students had a chance to submit their CV’s to the companies. The participating students will be awarded certificates at the end of the Human Resources Summit and Career Days.
