The participants were separated into groups based on their area of interests and started scientific research projects and discussed how a qualified scientific research should be conducted.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Evrim Üstünlüoğlu, Director of IUE School of Foreign Languages, stressed that they were highly ambitious about teaching foreign language because their ambition was backed up with a lot of scientific research and studies. Üstünlüoğlu stated that they constantly improved and renewed themselves as a school through supportive trainings. And Vice Director of IUE School of Foreign Languages, Asst. Prof Dr. Bahar Gün said, “Hosting such an important academic workshop in Turkey for the first time displays the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of the University”.
Guest speaker from Leeds University Prof. Simon Borg also stated, “One should always ask ‘how can I and my institution benefit from this’ when starting a research project. This is the crucial point of a research. The basis of a qualified research is asking a good question. We should always work hard to find that significant question”.
