UNIVERSITY CANDIDATES ARE MAKING CONSCIOUS CHOICES
The volunteer students greet the university candidates and their families and refer them to the experts where they are briefed in details about IUE and the departments they are interested in. The students get a chance to meet the academicians, have a tour of the university accompanied by guides, and attend seminars until July 18.
Prof. Dr. Cemali Dinçer, IUE Vice Rector, stated that the candidates saw university as a mission. He said, “Our students are trying to make a wise and planned decision to choose the best department that will shape their future. The University, with its human resources and universal education, stands out.”
CANDIDATES SEEK ANSWERS
University candidate Edil Koç mentioned that she wanted to study in Istanbul, she said, “I realized that I made the right decision when I came here. I want to study at Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I received first-hand information.”
Another candidate Gamze Güzelgün stated that she preferred Department of Political Science and International Relations, and she found answers for her questions at promotion days. Güzelgün said, “I even had a chance to talk to the head of the department. There were informative brochures about the departments on the tables. It was more than I expected. It was such a well-organized event.”
Şehval Altın also stated that she attended the event with her family and that the expert guides gave information about the profession she wanted to choose in details. Altın said that she would choose Department of International Trade and Finance. She said, “I want to study in Izmir. I felt very welcomed here. I am clearer about my decision now.”
Merve Karabay stated that she was having problem about choosing between Departments of Psychology and Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, but with this event she was able to make the correct decision. Karabay stated:
“I will go for psychology. I received detailed information on job opportunities, career fields, etc.”
Berkcan Gökten, on the other hand, said “My only goal was civil engineering. Now I am considering software engineering as well. Promotion Days changed my point of view. I had very helpful and reliable information here.”
