IUE MEN’S TENNIS TEAM ENTERED IN THE 1ST LEAGUE

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Men’s Tennis Team successfully defeated other teams in 2^nd League Tennis Competitions that was organized among 36 university teams in Antalya and became champion and entered in the 1^st League.  

IUE Team defeated Erciyes, Adıyaman, Eskişehir Osmangazi, Fırat and Erzurum Atatürk university teams 3-0, without losing a set and earned a championship trophy.  The team of Mehmet Ali Yemişcigil, Atabay Ersu, Alp Güngör, Yunus Can Turhan which is led by Servet Türk, also ranked in the first two among the 6 group winner university teams based on the general listing. The team will be competing in the first league in 2014 - 2015 Academic Year competitions. IUE Women’s Tennis Team also struggled in the first league.   

Sinem Konuralp, IUE Sports Coordinator, stated that they would continue to maintain their position in 1^st League in 2014-2015 Academic Year competitions. She said, “Our students are the future engineers, designers, or economists. The team spirit and disciplined work in sports make them ready for their career one step ahead.”
