CREATE A DIFFERENCE WITH IZMIR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS GRADUATE PROGRAMS

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) is making it easy for those who want to make a difference in their careers by having a graduate degree, with “distance education model”. IUE allows students to benefit from technological facilities and improve themselves by offering distance education in addition to graduate programs with or without thesis. All of the courses in IUE e-MBA programs are taught live on the internet environment.

IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Esen stated that the informative meetings for 2014 – 2015 academic year graduate programs would be held on August 18-19 and the applications would begin on August 18-29. He said that with this system they started in 2013, they allowed students to receive education without having to be present at the university physically. Prof. Dr. Esen said, “We bring the academicians and the students together in a virtual classroom by using technological means. Distance education, which is a planned type of instruction, eases the access of knowledge.”

Prof. Dr. Esen pointed out that the system allowed access to many people in different geographic locations, and individuals received much needed education on their timeline. It also increased sharing of instructional resources, and decreased transportation and other costs, he said. “With Business Administration Distance Education Graduate Programs (e-MBA), we aim to make students have analytical thinking skills in the field of business administration. On the other hand, we make sure that it has the most updated info to include all the functions of business administration. E-MBA, which lasts for 3 semesters, offers courses both in English and Turkish on an internet environment. The courses begin at 8 p.m. during weekdays, and those who miss the courses can review them in the archives section,” said Prof. Dr. Esen.
