APPRENTICES AND MASTERS COMING TOGETHER
Vocational School of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) brings masters and apprentices together. The “Çıraklar Ustalara Soruyor (Apprentices Asking Masters)”event, which was initiated in 2017-2018 academic year for the first time, continues full speed into its second year.
IUE Vocational School brings students and people who are leaders in their field of expertise together. This week students met with Nail Özlüsoylu, Director of Department of Media, Publications and Public Relations of Karabağlar Municipality. Özlüsoylu talked about urban aesthetic and urban landscape design and focused on the importance of design. Özlüsoylu stated that in urban design, the target group needed to be well acknowledged, and designs that are suited to the urban aesthetics needed to be developed.
Özlüsoylu stated that design existed in every part of our lives, and perceiving it like that would help open up new horizons. “Individuals should intervene in the area they live in. When creating a design, all conditions should be taken into consideration”, said Özlüsoylu and reported that preliminary research before the designing process changed point of view.
Özlüsoylu, who shared his experiences with students, also shared tips on becoming a good designer and a multifaceted thinker.
