45th LIBRARY WEEK IS CELEBRATED
Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Emin Küçük stated that with the effect of information and communication technology, the production and roaming of information have been reshaped and said, “The widespread usage of technology in electronic environment removed the borders in the production and access of information. The developing technology and information increase dragged library into fundamental changes.”
Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Emin Küçük pointed out that the concept “virtual library” was formed as a result of these developments, keeping the information sources in electronic environment, increasing access criteria, forming collective catalogues and putting them into service. At the end of the seminar, collective catalogue needs, collective catalogue formation approaches, applications in the world and the examples of collective catalogues in Turkey are discussed.
