The impacts of coronavirus on law are discussed thoroughly
Faculty of Law, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) prepared the “Online Seminars on the Impacts of Covid-19 Coronavirus on Law” event, where the impacts of coronavirus on law are addressed in detail. Impacts of Covid-19 on different areas of law and legal evaluations regarding these impacts meet the audience in the seminars held as part of IUE Campus Izmir Talks.
Prof. Çiğdem Kentmen Çin, Acting Dean of IUE Faculty of Law, pointed out that the seminars were being held via “Live Distance Education (Blackboard Collaborate)” a system used at the University based on the excellence in education approach, and said that the legal aspects of the outbreak were addressed in detail and academics answered nagging questions of all sections of society, especially of experts and practitioners.
Stating that Izmir University of Economics academics convey information according to sectors in their fields of expertise, Prof. Kentmen Çin said, “Our academics are ready to share their knowledge with the public on all issues needed by the sectors affected by the coronavirus. Coronavirus shows its effect on numerous legal issues such as personal freedom based curfew and other measures, sanctions that may arise from the measures taken, contracts related to commercial life and social life, foreclosure proceedings, rights and interests of employers and workers, occupational health and safety concept, public finance, responsibilities arising from family law, obligations of private insurances, etc. This University touches lives. Thanks to our distance education system, we are able to answer the questions of audience from all over the nation. IUE academics provide the answers sought by the sectors. Our seminars, which allow mutual exchange of information, welcome the participation of all sections of the society.”
