Online series for the business world; ‘Transformation in Tough Times’
Izmir Chamber of Commerce (IZTO) and Faculty of Business, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) are hosting a series of webinars titled, “Zor Zamanlarda Dönüşüm (Transformation in Tough Times)” in order to support companies in the difficult period caused by coronavirus. Academics will advise business representatives on many topics such as “Financial continuity in a crisis”, “Adapting to change in worklife” and “Innovation strategies” in the series initiated as part of the Campus Izmir Talks. Company representatives, who will be able to watch the videos of the series on YouTube, will be able to attend the question and answer session free of charge by completing the registration form for that session. Representatives of the business world will have the opportunity to benefit from knowledge and experience of IUE academics by consulting them for all their concerns about their companies and careers.
NEEDED TOPICS
Prof. Burcu Güneri Çangarlı, Dean of IUE Faculty of Business, said that they prepared webinars on the subjects that businesses would need the most. Prof. Çangarlı said, “The pandemic period we are in has deeply affected business life, from supply chains to budget management, and to employee-employer relations. With the awareness that they are facing a radical change, businesses should be able to adapt to this change. They must transform in a way and transform their way of doing business. As Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Business, we have prepared webinars on the subjects that businesses will need the most during this period.”
WILL CONTINUE IN JUNE AND JULY AS WELL
Prof. Çangarlı stated the following: “Our purpose is to share our knowledge in these areas with managers, and search with them for solutions on different points of view. In this context, Lecturer Taylan Demirkaya prepared the first webinar on "Agile Innovation Strategies in Crisis Times". Starting May 14, we will share video webinars on a different topic that the business world needs every week. Every Thursday evening at 21.00, our faculty members will meet with business representatives and answer their questions in a chat environment. We plan to continue the series of webinars in June and July as well.”
