“Let's listen to our feelings, take time for ourselves”
Assoc. Prof. Neslihan Günüşen, Faculty Member of Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Nursing, Division of Psychiatric Nursing, has been the guest of the third session of the webinar series, co-organized by Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Turkish Surgical and Operating Room Nurses Association.
The conference titled "Spiritual Relaxation During the Pandemic Period" was held on the Blackboard Collaborate infrastructure of Izmir University of Economics. Assoc. Prof. Günüşen drew attention to the importance of living the moment in her speech at the seminar moderated by Prof. Filiz Öğce, Dean of IUE Faculty of Health Sciences, and the President of Turkish Surgical and Operating Room Nurses Association. Assoc. Prof. Günüşen drew attention to the importance of emotions by saying, “During this period, we experience many different emotions such as sadness, anxiety and fear together. So, we should listen to our feelings and take time for ourselves.”
Talking about methods of coping with uncertainty, Assoc. Prof. Günüşen also made suggestions to the participants, including academicians, health workers and students, on “Mindfulness” practices.
