Award for 'urban furniture' design made of marble

Sezin Gediz Ün, a fourth-year student at Izmir University of Economics (IUE), Department of Industrial Design, was deemed worthy of an award for her design, which is called “urban furniture” and allows citizens to spend time comfortably in the common areas in the city center. Taking the pandemic conditions in her design into account, and preferring marble because of its easy cleaning, Ün came second in the “Industrial and Architectural Natural Stone Design Competition” organized by the Istanbul Mineral Exporters' Association (IMIB) for the 9th time this year. Having received a monetary award of 10 thousand liras, Ün also received a scholarship to study abroad.
