CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIAL LIFE
Pointing out that they have been preparing for the festival for a long time, IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Aşkar said, “As a university, we are committed to contributing to social life, and we plan activities in this direction. We aimed to organize a festival, both for our students to convey their own works to the audience and to contribute to the film industry during this pandemic period, which is challenging and tiring for all of us. The festival, which we will organize for the first time on a digital platform, will be an exciting experience for us as well. The art unit, which we have established within the University, is also making plans for the upcoming period. We will continue to organize events that appeal to people of all ages and tastes, spreading from Izmir to every corner of our country.”
VERY IMPORTANT FOR STUDENTS
Asst. Prof. Aras Özgün, Head of IUE Department of Cinema and Digital Media said, “During the pandemic, cultural life was quite disrupted. People cannot go to the movies; cultural habits cannot be sustained. As the department, we wanted to make our students gain experience by supporting the organization of the festival in such a difficult period. It is very important for students to show their works to the audience and see how the audience reacts. The festival will also contribute to the development of our students significantly.” IUE Art Coordinator Sinemis Eser Akaoğlu stated that the announcements about the event will be made on IUE's website and social media accounts and invited all art lovers to the festival.
