Mary's dream came true in Izmir

Iranian Mary Kahshan Zamani (24) turned her dream of becoming a fashion designer, which started as a child, into reality in Izmir, where she came to study at university. After graduating from Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Textile and Fashion Design, Zamani, who built the 'Kahshan' brand, made a difference with the unique designs she created. Young fashion designer, who sells her designs all over Turkey by selling on a famous e-commerce site as well as her own website, said, “It has been 8 months since I built my brand. I think that I have made rapid progress in a short time and that consumers like my products. My biggest advantage is doing what I love and want. I will continue to work to be even more successful.”

Fashion designer Mary Kahshan Zamani preferred IUE Department of Textile and Fashion Design by deciding to study in Turkey, which she felt closer, passing up the chance to study in Iran at the age of 18. Zamani, who had the opportunity to receive education on fashion, which she was passionate about since childhood, was awarded a scholarship for her disciplined and self-sacrificing work.

SHE WILL BE EXPANDING ABROAD

Zamani, who gained sectoral experience by performing internships in 5 different places during her education, decided to pursue a master's degree after graduating in 2020. Although she had the opportunity to study at schools in Germany, England and Italy, Zamani did not want to go due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Zamani, who treaded a completely different path for herself in her career journey, decided to build her own brand with the name 'Kahshan'. Mary Zamani, who made a rapid entry into the fashion industry by officially building her brand last year, aims to continue her success in the international arena by expanding abroad in a short time.

I USED TO PREPARE COSTUMES FOR MY BARBIE DOLLS

Zamani, who lives in the Güzelbahçe district of Izmir, stated that fashion is a lifestyle for her. Zamani said, “When I was a kid, I used to make costumes for my Barbie dolls and try to dress them up in the most striking way. When I was 11-12 years old, I used to observe people and their clothing. I used to think to myself, 'whichever color or model would suit them better'. I have always had a passion for fashion. I turned my passion into a profession, as I think it should be. I love Izmir very much. I am happy here.”

I CREATE MY DESIGNS NIGHT TIME

Expressing that she is the only person in her family who is interested in fashion, Zamani gave information about her brand and said: “I focus my designs mostly on ready-made clothing. I prepare coats, dresses, shirts, t-shirts, trousers, joggers, shorts, knitwear and sweatshirt models that can appeal to everyone. My favorite colors are green and blue. I can express my style more clearly in my designs with the colors blue and green. Now people can remember me with these two colors. But I use other colors also. I usually appeal to the 20-40 age group. I always follow the latest trends and observe the changes. I take this into account in my designs. I always work at night. I design more comfortably at night. There have been many times that I have worked until the morning. I am confident, I always focus on doing better. I have a habit of always wanting better and more beautiful. To be successful, you have to think like this. I was featured in 'PAP Magazine' in Italy a short time ago, I aim to increase the recognition of my brand in the upcoming period.”
