Apply with a project, meet with the company

A new opportunity has emerged for entrepreneurs who want to achieve their career goals by presenting their creative projects and ideas to representatives of famous companies. Applications have started to be accepted for the ‘Create in Izmir’ project, initiated under the coordination of Izmir Economy University (IEU) and aiming to bring together 270 brands operating in the creative industries in the Aegean Region with entrepreneurs in a common ‘digital pool’.

Entrepreneurs, who believe their projects will make a difference, can apply by filling out the form on www.createinizmir.com until March 31, 2024, with no age restrictions. Thanks to the project, which allows entrepreneurs in Izmir, Manisa, Afyon, Uşak, Kütahya, Aydın, Denizli, and Muğla to apply, many qualified projects waiting to be explored will be  discovered and the Aegean region will become a focal point of ‘creativity’.

The ‘Create in Izmir’ project is being implemented with a budget of 2.3 million euros, with the support of the European Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, under the coordination of Izmir University of Economics Creative Economy Research and Application Center (IEU+KREA). The Izmir Development Agency (IZKA), Izmir Foundation, and Aegean Young Business People Association (EGIAD) have also contributed to the project, which will last until April 2025.

SPECIFICALLY SELECTED

Selected among over 100 projects nationwide, ‘Create in Izmir' quickly turned into a large-scale project covering the Aegean. Over 10,000 companies operating in different fields such as design, game development, software, television, and cinema were individually examined, and the initiative was taken for the first meeting of 270 Aegean companies with entrepreneurs.

IUE+KREA Director Dr. Sevay İpek Aydın called on entrepreneurs in the Aegean to apply to Create in Izmir project. Dr. Aydın said, “After meticulously examining the projects submitted to us, we will determine those who will be included in Create in Izmir. We will provide entrepreneurs with the opportunity to easily meet with successful companies operating nationally and internationally. In addition, we will offer them the opportunity to benefit from various training programs. For example, a university student or recent graduate can open a new door for themselves with their graduation project alone. Let's say you have an idea that you believe is very good but you need support to bring it to life. If you think this is the case, you must apply to us. In addition, different services are being prepared for the creative transformation processes of corporate companies. Sectors touched by creativity and design for making something better will be much stronger. Creative industries will add even more strength to the manufacturing and tourism sectors.”
