Became a ‘brand’ in 20 years
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FFAD) held its 20th Academic Year Opening Ceremony with great enthusiasm. The event was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Hakan Abacıoğlu, Dean Prof. Dr. Ender Yazgan Bulgun, the founding dean of the faculty Prof. Dr. Tevfik Balcıoğlu, academics, and many students. Following a panel in which alumni shared memories from their school years, colorful moments were captured during the cutting of a special cake prepared for the 20th anniversary. The excitement-filled program concluded with an alumni gathering accompanied by live music.

Speaking at the opening of the event, Prof. Dr. Bulgun expressed pride in having a history full of achievements, saying, “Our faculty, which has become a brand with its accomplishments, has taken on an important mission by training Turkey’s best designers, architects, artists, and distinguished individuals who shape their era. We are proud and happy that our faculty, with its highly esteemed academic staff and innovative education, has always served as an example for our country.”

IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Hakan Abacıoğlu thanked everyone who contributed to organizing the events. Expressing his belief that the faculty will continue to achieve great things, Prof. Dr. Abacıoğlu wished all academics and students a successful academic year.
