Great Support to Innovative Ideas
7 entrepreneurs have qualified for support within the scope of the BİGG Assist program where Izmir University of Economics (IUE), Teknopark Izmir and Vestel Elektronik A.Ş. are implementing organizations. The upper limit of the entrepreneurship project support provided to early-stage innovative ideas has been set at 900 thousand TL. This amount will be transferred to the ventures as an investment in return for a 3 percent stake through the TUBITAK BIGG Fund. Asst. Prof. Dr. Görkem Yılmaz, a faculty member in the IUE Department of Industrial Engineering, and Duygu Geçkin, a research assistant in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, were also among those who successfully received support.
DETERMINED STEPS
Kadir Onur Kanyılmaz, Director of Izmir University of Economics Project Development and Technology Transfer Office said, “Within the scope of the TUBITAK Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index, Izmir University of Economics ranks in the top 10 nationwide in the BIGG Company Count performance indicator according to the last two announced indices. By further developing our strategic planning, we will continue to take determined steps in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship and aim to be in higher ranks in the coming years."

Yağmur Büyükkurt Kahraman, Project Development and Management Supervisor at the IUE Technology Transfer Office, who made significant efforts in the successful completion of the process, congratulated the entrepreneurs who successfully completed the intensive training and mentorship program and qualified for investment. also Stating that İnci Holding (Vinci VC), Cevher Dijital Çözümler A.Ş., Siemens Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., Türkiye İş Bankası A.Ş., Manisa Celal Bayar University, Celal Bayar University Technology Development Zone A.Ş., and Balıkesir University Technology Development Zone A.Ş. also contributed to the program as stakeholders, Kahraman said that they will continue to work to create new opportunities for entrepreneurs in the upcoming period.
