EKOEĞİTİM-TLC Continues to Add Value to Teaching and Learning on Its 10th Anniversary
Established to enhance the quality of teaching and support student-centered education at İzmir University of Economics, EKOEĞİTİM-TLC (Teaching and Learning Center) has marked its 10th anniversary. Since its founding in 2014, the center has continuously strengthened the teaching and learning processes across the university community with a decade of accumulated experience.
Comprehensive Support for Academic Staff
Over the past 10 years, the center has carried out extensive efforts to support the professional development of academic staff. Through numerous events, trainings, professional development courses, and individualized consultations, EKOEĞİTİM-TLC has made significant contributions to teaching practices. Certificates were awarded to more than 150 faculty members who successfully completed the “Effective Teaching Professional Development Program.” In addition, the center has fostered environments that enhance professional interaction, encourage experience sharing, and strengthen collegial solidarity through collaboration-focused activities.
Learner-Centered Approach and Development Support
Supporting students has been a key priority since the center’s inception. With over 360 student-focused events, approximately 6,700 students have directly benefited. The center has supported students’ academic journeys through various initiatives ranging from peer support programs and orientation sessions to video content and individualized guidance.
Instructional Design and Micro-learning Initiatives
Building on its expertise in instructional design, the center has played a vital role in redesigning numerous courses and creating digital learning materials. At the same time, it has developed various micro-learning courses aimed at enhancing students’ employability skills, making these resources accessible to the student body.
Leadership in Educational Technologies and Digital Transformation
EKOEĞİTİM-TLC has also distinguished itself in the field of educational technologies. Especially during the pandemic, the center made crucial contributions to the university’s vision of uninterrupted education by facilitating a rapid and effective digital transformation. Emphasizing the development of digital skills, the center developed and launched two innovative digital applications, Ecopost and Ecoplan, for the university community.

Building on its past experiences, EKOEĞİTİM-TLC continues to advance confidently into the future. With its dynamic structure that supports learning, values collaborative growth, and aims for continuous improvement, the center remains a vital contributor to the teaching and learning culture at İzmir University of Economics.
