The SJ R 976 Locomotive was the strongest steam engine in Sweden and was brought out for the 120 year anniversary of the "Malmbanan" (ore line) in northern Sweden. The locomotive pulled a 1300 ton modern wagon load under the July midnight sun of the arctic polar circle - the equivalent weight of what it would have pulled during normal operations in the early 1900s.
