#59: Star Trek: The Original Series, season 3, episode 2 "The Enterprise Incident"

Doctor McCoy is becoming increasingly worried that Captain Kirk is being overworked and is beginning to buckle under the stress of command. As Kirk becomes increasingly short with his crew he suddenly orders the ship to enter Romulan space seemingly without orders to do so. The Enterprise is almost immediately surrounded by a small armada of Romulan ships under the control of a female Romulan Commander. Kirk and Spock are taken aboard her flagship and interrogated. But Spock unexpectedly reveals that Kirk's transgression into Romulan space was of his own accord, which causes him to break and try to attack Spock in anger. Thrown into a Romulan prison cell, Kirk is left suffering from a mental breakdown and in a catatonic state while the Commander sets her eyes on Spock to attempt to lure him over to her side in more ways than one.
