<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><rss xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/" xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" version="2.0"><channel><title><![CDATA[New Forest wildlife and ancient trees destroyed by A31 wildfire]]></title><description><![CDATA[<p dir="auto">Ancient oak and beech trees, rare heathland and even wetland have been devastated by the recent fire that swept through the New Forest, a survey has found.</p>
<p dir="auto">More than 1 sq km (247 acres) of the national park has been destroyed since the fire broke out on 9 August, Forestry England said.</p>
<p dir="auto">The government agency found areas devoid of vegetation, dead wildlife and scorched bogs in an initial inspection of the damage.</p>
