FINALLY! How adorable is this little guy?

This little cutie has been alluding me for months and I'm not going to lie, I got emotional at the sight of this adorable little Owlet Nightjar. I can't believe how lucky I was to capture that beautiful tail!

The owlet nightjar is the tiniest nocturnal bird in Australia and one of the rarest to see. It isn't an owl or a nightjar but rather a combo of them both.

You can see is little whiskers which is what it uses to detect flying insects to hunt. They are only about 20cm and as you can see from the full shot I took there is a gumleaf above him and he isn't much bigger.
