I never shit on someone's food preferences. You like what you like, and I'm happy you do.

That being said, this community is about conversation, so I hope you'll accept my take on why I doubt most people would enjoy this (and why I'm confident I wouldn't like this either).

See, part of why ramen works "dry", as in not as a soup, is getting the packet distributed fairly well, so that you get both even coverage and time for the contents to dissolve a little.

Once you rinse the noodles, not only do you lose the faint scent that that packet brings because there's no stream to carry it, but you've rinsed off the starches that help spread the flavor as well as keep it on the noodles. Plus, they tend to stick together worse when rinsed, which is counter intuitive, but has been my experience with rinsed ramen being used without the packet at all.

They get gummy when I've tried rinsing them to get rid of the oil residues.

So you end up with a less acceptable texture, less consistent flavor, and less scent (which is a major factor in what we taste). That equals a much blander result that still manages to be salty as fuck all.

Again, if you like it that way, awesome! I just don't think most people would, and know I wouldn't.
