The connectivity question is the same radios, different queue.

Install the eSIM on hotel Wi-Fi the night before. Activation still wants a network; airport free Wi-Fi is a line.

Plastic IC (or iPhone Suica Mobile) for gates. A US/EU Android eSIM will not add Suica. FeliCa ≠ eSIM.

Dated checkout 2026-08-29: Airalo Japan 7d 5GB $10 / 10GB $17; Holafly 7d $27.50 (hotspot 1GB/day); Ubigi 10GB/7d $14. Re-check before paying. I am not quoting airport-booth yen I did not photograph.

KIX-oriented notes live on the Narita page until a separate KIX URL exists: https://before-you-land.tiiny.site/japan/narita/

Disclosure: if you buy Airalo through the notes below I may earn a commission. Holafly and Ubigi links there are official/untracked. I did not invent SKUs; prices copied 2026-08-29 from checkout pages and should be re-checked.
