We run a small café in Business Bay and the building management has very specific rules about what can sit in the common waste area. We bought a decent stainless steel garbage bin for the back corridor thinking it looked professional and hygienic, but the manager came by and said it does not comply because it needs to be a certain type for the collection crew to handle. Now we are stuck with a bin we cannot use and I am not even sure what the actual requirement is, nobody gave us a written spec. Is there some standard here in Dubai that commercial tenants need to follow, or does each building just make up its own rules. Also if anyone has dealt with this before, did you get the requirement in writing from the management or just figure it out by trial and error. I do not want to keep buying bins and having them rejected, that is money down the drain. Any guidance from someone who has been through this would really help.
