I consider reconstructionism rather silly (no offense intended) and it has no place in my daily practice at all. If at all we can use historic knowledge as creative inspiration, but once any attempt to reconstruct exactly is bound to fail we can just as well make things up that work for us.
My version of heathenry is not a form of worship but one of communication - I try to adapt what works for communication between humans. To be polite and respectful, to learn how to listen, not be a smartass, not be self-centered ...
I often have some question to the landscape, so I will just be aware of me having this question and then I let it go and continue with my day. The answer arrives usually as something happening out of the ordinary while having a certain thought related to the topic. Maybe a sudden sound while thinking one sentence which is the answer to my question. Or a bird landing on a tree, or a gust of wind. In the same way I sometimes have a whole conversation, just sitting, letting the thoughts flow, watching my surroundings.
This just works when I'm not in love with my ego. All I hear I take with a grain of salt, and the only daily prayer I say is 'Please let me remain small and quiet.' or else all I will hear is my own voice.
