Tip: Forge Release Feeds Part II - Forgejo/Codeberg
-
Getting news of your favorite free software releasing can be a pain if said software isn't a part of your standard update mechanism. However, most software forges have means of providing feeds to mitigate that. Today, we look at Codeberg, based off of Forgejo.
And it's a rather simple affair. The repository page has an RSS button. The button is a link to the .rss of the repo, which makes it also rather easy to add to feed readers.
Let's use Forgejo itself (https://codeberg.org/forgejo/forgejo) as the example for this. If you hover over the RSS feed button, you see that it points to
https://codeberg.org/forgejo/forgejo.rss. Seeing as Forgejo powers Codeberg, it would be safe to assume any Forgejo-powered forges offer the same functionality.
