Where are you supposed to draw the boundary when talking to a married woman?
-
So recently, I was approached by an older woman at the gym who asked me for some help and advice with her workouts. We started talking regularly after that. She’s married with kids, and our conversations have gradually progressed to her venting to me about her husband and her marriage. I’m more than happy to listen, since I know that venting can be therapeutic, but she also says things like, “When I’m with my husband, I can’t help but think about you.”
I don’t want to interfere with or ruin anyone’s marriage, but I’m not really sure where I’m supposed to draw the line. At what point does simply listening and being supportive cross a boundary?
