Meta removed the facial recognition feature 2 days ago because of public pushback over privacy concern. But Facebook knows how this game is played: people latch onto some other egregious thing they get worked up about and lose interest - or they get ground down into compliance - and the facial recognition feature will make a quiet comeback eventually.

Fuckerberg has an uncanny ability to debase everything he touches - including the unlikely world of eyewear. Amazing... Also, from the article: "We're at a very sensitive time for the tech industry in terms of trying to really preserve that positive consumer sentiment that's taking a bit of a hit due to AI, and it's absolutely applicable to smart glasses," said Jacob Bourne, a technology analyst at eMarketer. What is this guy smoking? I haven't seen any positive sentiment for the tech industry for at least 15 years.
