Context: The Free French Forces and the FFI (French Resistance) started rising up in Paris on August 18th, before the Allies arrived. For days, they were the only ones fighting the German garrison. The meme captures the vibe: the Nazis thought they had the city locked down, but the Resistance made it clear that Paris was a trap. By August 25th, Leclerc's 2nd Armored Division finally rolled in and the Germans surrendered.
