Opinion on MOC design
-
I'm designing a new MOC for my NeoClassic Space Moonbase: A tracked dumper like the ones from https://www.ntdh.co.uk/ which I've seen at the Whitchurch channel breach, but, of course, "spacified" with a blue cabin and engine cabinet.
Now I'm not the LEGO technic guy, and for the tread assembly, I've found the piece 32272 (Technic, Liftarm, Modified Bent Thick 1 x 9 (7 - 3)), which would make a for me perfect spacing to place the outermost gears. Sadly, this piece has axle holes instead of pin holes at the ends. So I could make a plain show piece where the tracks can't move as the axle with the gear can't turn.
So, what is your opinion: Is a static model sitting on a display OK, or should I find ways to make the tread "spin", even though it will never move?
