PieFed web UI hickups on Firefox (based) browsers?

PieFed help

  • First of all, I'm on piefed.zip which uses PieFed v1.8.0-dev - apparently a sort of beta?

I have, over time, noticed small UI hickups mostly related to tooltips misbehaving: not showing up when hovering, or getting stuck at the top/bottom of the viewport.

I have noticed that Chromium seems to do better here.

Since many fediverse users use Firefox et al. for privacy reasons I think maybe we should discuss this, compare notes.

I'm using Librewolf 153.0.3-1 btw. with uBlock origin

I cant remember ever having issues on normal Firefox on my Desktop.

But now that you say it i also have similar hickups with the tooltips on Ironfox on Android.

So maybe this is a hardened Firefox issue?

Unrelated but i also had once software gore:

not complaining. That was kinda cool. :>

I use regular Firefox. I haven't seen any issues. Are you using any extensions that might be interfering? Try opening the browser in debug mode and see if the issues disappear.

Yes it does. I think you need a space after the first hash and no second one. !markdown@piefed.social

Block it. I don't know if it's very different in Piefed, which is a fork of Lemmy, but you should be able to just block the community. That should hide it. Not sure about the sidebar though. Power-hungry mods from Reddit are ruining Lemmy (et al) with bans when they should be using blocks. All they're accomplishing is reducing engagement — and I think that's the point. Don't get me wrong, if a person deserves a ban, they should get a ban, but I see a lot of "I just want to see Lemmy burn" rather than "I want to make my comm better" (mostly looking at YPTB).
